The legendary "Kaelin's" at Newburg Road and Speed Avenue in Louisville, where the Cheeseburger was invented in 1934, closed after 75 years. The third generation of Kaelins were not interested in gastronomy anymore.
The three young Louisville entrepreneurs Chris Fenton, Matt Stags, and Bill DuBourg finally bought the house and renovated it after having changed hands several times, in order to reopen the restaurant and renew its culinary history. It is now being called "Kaelins@80/20" and has re-emerged in a few years as a culinary meeting place of Louisville.
