Claudia Steiner grew up in Schwyz, and after humanistic gymnasium study earned a degree in TV journalism (SRF) and was editor at Swiss Television from 2001 to 2008. Since 2009 she is working as a freelance journalist, owns since 2016 doCfilm GmbH, is a freelance film producer for movie theaters and television studios relating to culture and the economy. She is a member of the association Filmregie and Drehbuch (Screenplay) Schweiz (ARF/FDS) and member of Film Zentralschweiz and SSM.
