Dr. Heinz Nauer is the author of Fromme Industrie (Zürich: Hier und Jetzt, 2017), a study of the Swiss American publishing firm Benziger. His scholarly interest centers on the history of Catholicism since 1750 as well as on regional history and the history of media.

For the project "Einsiedeln elsewhere" he researched the historical contexts of the emigration from Canton Schwyz to the United States in the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is now a scholarly editor at the Swiss Academy of Intellectual and Social History and resides in Bern and Einsiedeln.
